Plate-billed Mountain Toucan
The Encounter
This is one of four mountain toucans and can be found in Ecuador. This sculpture illustrates
the true side of a toucan, its ferocity. Toucans are very intelligent and will eat just about
anything they can swallow. My visit to the rainforest exposed me to many types of animals and I
felt the conflict between a tarantula and this toucan would make an interesting composition.
